Materials and construction
Real wood is used in every part of our cabinets for a genuine, quality product. Our cabinet interiors are made of plywood sealed with a clear durable, easy to clean finish. Using dado and rabbet joinery they are glued and blind stapled for consistently strong joints that exceed all industry standards with no visible fasteners or puttied holes. Faces are crafted from select solid woods and assembled with pocket screws for tight, strong joints. All surfaces are sanded in multiple steps before the final hand sanding as it is prepared to receive the finish.
We use high quality, durable finish products from ML Campbell and Gemini. The finish is built up in a 5 to 7 step schedule and hand sanded between each coat for the look and feel of fine furniture.
Drawers are high quality plywood boxes employing the same dado and rabbet joints. Smooth epoxy coated Blum glides are standard on all our drawers. For the ultimate in quality, our most popular upgrade is solid wood drawers with dovetail construction mounted on concealed full extension whisper-quiet glides with a soft-close feature.
Care and Cleaning
Maintaining your beautiful custom woodwork is as simple as observing a few simple cleaning guidelines. They should be wiped with a soft cloth dampened with warm water regularly to remove dust and cooking oils. If a more thorough cleaning is needed a mild soap such as ‘Joy’ can be added to the warm water. Abrasives should never be used to clean your cabinets.
Wood is subject to natural movement due to moisture and temperature so care needs to be taken to keep the air around you cabinets in the "comfort zone" - neither too humid nor to dry. The climate-controlled air of most homes is ideal. However if the cabinets will be used in moisture prone areas such as basements, extra dehumidification equipment may be needed to maintain the proper humidity levels.
One Year Warranty
Anders Custom Cabinets is proud of the quality of our materials and workmanship. We use high quality materials and durable finish products for years of trouble free service. Wood is a natural product and variations in color and grain are considered normal and desirable. These variations are part of the beauty and character of real wood products and are not considered defects. If any defects in material or workmanship reveal themselves in any of our products we will promptly repair or replace the defective part free of charge. This warranty covers our products for a period of one year from the date of installation. Reasonable care must be taken to avoid damaging any wood product and our warranty will not cover any issues arising from neglect or when reasonable care is not exercised.
